Summer of Croquet

Join the Fort Wayne Croquet Club for a season of strategy and social play. Opening in August.

Welcome to Fort Wayne Croquet

The Fort Wayne Croquet Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities for relaxed social play, introductory lessons, and competitive games on our beautifully maintained bowling green behind the Fort Wayne Curling Club.

We are playing Golf Croquet. Golf Croquet is the fastest-paced and most popular version of the game worldwide. It’s easiest to learn and the most sociable version of Croquet, ideal for people of all experience levels!

We’ll introduce American 6-Wicket Croquet next season.

A wide, photographic panoramic view of the rear yard bowling green behind the Fort Wayne Curling Club at 3837 N. Wells Street, the croquet layout clearly visible with white wickets and colorful stakes dotted across the smooth emerald surface. The red-brick curling club building anchors the left side of the frame, while a line of leafy Midwestern trees and a simple chain-link fence enclose the space. Soft, bright midday sunlight creates even lighting with gentle shadows under each wicket. Captured from a slightly elevated angle with sharp focus throughout, the composition uses the rule of thirds to balance the building, green, and sky, conveying an inviting, neighborhood-club feel that is cheerful and welcoming.

An overhead, photographic still life of a classic wooden croquet set neatly arranged on the manicured bowling green of the Fort Wayne Croquet Club. Six brightly colored balls—red, blue, yellow, black, green, and orange—form a playful arc, their glossy surfaces showing faint scuffs from past games. Mallets lie parallel, handles alternating in color-striped patterns, with a central wooden stake standing upright at the edge of the frame. Soft late-morning sunlight creates gentle highlights and tidy shadows, emphasizing the smooth wood and vibrant paint. The background is a simple, uniform field of rich green grass, slightly blurred at the edges, giving the image a clean, modern, and delightfully playful atmosphere perfect for a club homepage hero image.

A detailed photographic close-up of the wooden boundary stake on the Fort Wayne Croquet Club green, its vertical stripes of bright red, blue, yellow, and black paint slightly weathered yet vivid. The stake rises from a patch of perfectly level grass, tiny clippings still visible from a fresh cut. Late afternoon light washes the scene in warm tones, catching the subtle texture of the wood grain and casting a delicate shadow to one side. The background is tastefully blurred, revealing only hints of additional wickets, colorful balls scattered in the distance, and the soft silhouette of the Fort Wayne Curling Club building, creating an atmosphere that is playful, nostalgic, and distinctly local.

A cozy, photographic scene of the Fort Wayne Croquet Club’s equipment storage corner just inside a modest outbuilding behind the Curling Club. Wooden mallets with striped handles hang neatly on a simple pegboard wall, their surfaces showing light wear and polished grips. Below them, a weathered wooden crate holds neatly stacked croquet balls in bright primary colors, their glossy finish catching the soft, indirect light filtering through a small nearby window. The concrete floor and exposed studs give the space a down-to-earth, community-club feel. Shot from an eye-level angle with moderate depth of field, the image feels warm, playful, and authentic, celebrating the simple charm of a local croquet club getting ready for a great day of play.
